On your mark. Get set. GOAL!

With the New Year right around the corner, I know many of us, including moi, are setting goals for ourselves. Some are realistic and some are just plain fantasy. Just for fun, I decided to share 12 of my goals (along with the reality of them).

     1  Lose 50lbs.
(Seriously, if I lose 10, I’ll be happy)

           2        Exercise.
           (Yeah, whatever…)

    3        Eat healthier
                (A must-do)

4        Write 4 books this year
(I’m not as fast as I used to be, that’s for sure!)

5        Learn to use my Dragon voice-recognition software
(I’m not as fast as I used to be…yada, yada…)

6        Buy a road-worthy vehicle
(I’m sad that my son is moving to upper Michigan and yet I’m happy for him, getting his new job position as a pastor. Weather permitting, a lot of driving is in my husband and my future.)

7        Move South to avoid another Wisconsin winter
      (I say this every year!)

8        Convince my husband to drive me to the ACFW Conference in Dallas so I don’t have to fly the un-friendly skies.
      (Refer to #6)

9        Clean my office, organize, and simplify
(I say this every other month!)

10    Sell some of my stuff on Craig’s List or Ebay.
      (Refer back to #9)

11    Hire a cleaning lady
(Refer back to #9 and #10)

12    Earn a million dollars on my books so I can accomplish goals #1 thru #11
      (Stop laughing!)

OK, so now that I've shared my resolutions with you, tell me about your New Year’s goals.

I'm hoping you get that million!

As for me, I want to complete and sell three books this year. :)

Cheers!

I only have three to write this year so that is a doable goal.

My main goal this year is to become more organized. (Same goal for last 50 years. Hasn't happened yet.)But I'll give it another try. :)

Another goal is to stay healthy. Pneumonia last year almost did me in.

Eat right. (Yeah, right. Pass the chocolate)

Exercise (Did someone say let's go for a walk?) Seriously, I have a recumbant bike and an exer-cycle. I WILL use them more often this year.

Hope you get that million, Andrea. Have a blessed New Year.

Okay, I'm not ambitious compared with those who have already commented. Call me a lazy realist. My goal in 2012 is to publish and market the book I wrote in 2011. My new health/lifestyle goal is to do balance exercises every day. Those are in addition to the aerobic and strength training exercises I do daily. I'm more physical than sedentary which is probably why I've accomplished less writing and more exercise than others who have shared here. This is my advice, via Ben Franklin, for the New Year. "Be always at War with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each New Year find you a better person." I wish you all good health and the Lord's blessings whether you accomplish your goals, or His!

My, you are ambitious, friend.
I hope to get my little cadre of writing friends more organized and hit up some more joint marketing ventures, spend only two mornings a week on Internet marketing/socializing, and finish the Buried Treasure mystery series. And not become your cleaning lady.

I decided I'm too ADD to last a whole year on goals ... so I focused on just January. Maybe I'll see some real progress? (Ahem. Lofty goal in itself.) So ... for January, my goals include learning more about blogging from someone who knows far more than I do about it, and aiming to write at least 15 minutes a day 5 days a week (while maintaining my regular life and not driving my family to eat out regularly!).
